Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do we require a visa for Cayman Islands?

  • A.     US citizens and citizens of countries that belong to the British Commonwealth (such as the UK, Canada, Australia, and India) do not require Cayman visas. A passport is required, with evidence of return air ticket and visa for whichever country you are flying back to.

  • Is all of Seven Mile Beach accessible from the beach at the condo complex?

  • A.     The beach at the condo complex is part of Seven Mile Beach. You can walk up and down the entire Seven Mile Beach from the beach at the condo complex.

  • Is the beach at the condo complex sandy or rocky?

  • A.     The beach at the condo complex is a combination of sandy and rocky. There is a sandy beach for sunbathing and playing in the sand. The water’s edge is rocky. Parts of the rocky edge are covered with sand, and parts are not. The specific parts covered by sand may vary from year to year depending on the year’s storms. When a storm comes, it may dump sand on parts of the beach and wash sand away from other parts of the beach. There are always sandy access areas into the water, but their exact location, therefore, will vary from year to year.

  • Is the bottom of the ocean floor near the condo complex sandy or rocky?

  • A.     The bottom of the ocean floor near the condo complex is rocky. This results in stunning snorkeling opportunities which you will not find when the ocean floor is sandy. It also means more fish to see (and to catch if you fish).

  • What if I want to rent a jet ski or a paddle boat?

  • A.     If you walk 5-10 minute north along the beach from the condo complex, you arrive at a vast sandy beach with sandy ocean bottom. There is a vendor here who rents jet skis and paddle boats.

  • How do I arrange scuba diving?

  • A.     There used to be a scuba diving shop right next to the condo complex. Although it has since closed, there are several area diving operators who will pick you up at the condo and drop you off after the dives.

  • Do I need to rent a car?

  • A.     Although you are welcome to rent a car, and a parking space is always available at the condo complex, you do not have to rent a car. Taxis are easy to get by telephone, most places are within walking distance, and there is a bus line along the main road.

  • How do I get to the condo complex from the airport?

  • A.     If you do not rent a car, you can get a taxi from the airport. There is a taxi stand when you come out of the customs hall. Taxis are assigned by the taxi stand, and are shared by more than one family. For a family of four, taxi fare is about US$20. To return to the airport, call a taxi by telephone, and it will pick you up for the same fare.

  • How do I get a key to the condo?

  • A.     Your check-in instructions will be e-mailed to you when your reservation is confirmed.
